Ann's father was James Crook and her mother was Mary Crook.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Crook and Hannah (Nanny) Walsh. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, James, Samuel, James, Sarah, Mary and Rachel.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
