James Chorlton

James was born in March 1847 in Bolton.¹

James' father was John Chorlton and his mother was Jane Mather. His maternal grandparents were John Mather and Alice Mort. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Isaac, Sarah and Alice. He was the youngest of the five known children. He had a half-sister named Nancy.
