John Willie Burgess 
John was born in 1873 in Sharples.1 John's father was Joseph Burgess and his mother was Alice Nightingale. His maternal grandparents were William Nightingale and Peggy (Margaret) Riding. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Eliza, Joseph, Annie and Maggie. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
