Frances was born about 1635 in Bowden. Frances' father was Sir William Brereton and her mother was Susanna Booth. Her paternal grandparents were Lord William Brereton and Margaret Holland. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Katherine and Susanna. She had a half-sister named Cicely. She died in 1676.
