Sarah Boothroyd

Sarah was born on April 14th, 1821 in Newsome and her baptism took place on May 22nd, 1825 in Almondbury.¹

Sarah's father was Thomas Boothroyd and her mother was Esther Stocks. Her maternal grandparents were George Stocks and Mary Blackburn. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Susannah, Mary, Mary and Susannah. She was the third oldest of the six children.

General Notes
- Sarah was born at Newsome in 1821, but not baptised till 1825.
  
  In 1851, Sarah Boothroyd is described as dau-in-law and unmarried, aged 30 with the Jushua Armitage family. A Hand Loom Weaver. She has a daughter Eliza aged 5. They are at house 466, Almondbury. Eliza's baptism of 21 Sep 1845 shows Sarah was a spinster from Almondbury.
  
  However, also in 1851 there is Sarah Smith wife of Joseph of Honley, a butcher. This Sarah is born at Newsome and has her sister Susannah Boothroyd with her from Netherton. This is a perfect match!
