Florence's father was Elijah Berry and her mother was Mary Ellen Partington. Her paternal grandparents were John Berry and Mary Collings. She had a brother and five sisters, named John, Eliza, Elizabeth, Ada, Emily and Martha. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 54 in April 1943 in Farnworth.³
