Joseph Allen

Joseph was born in September 1809 in Bolton and his baptism took place on September 24th, 1809 at St. Mary (Deane).¹

Joseph's father was Joseph Allen and his mother was Sarah Carter.  His paternal grandparents were John Allen and Ellen Welsby. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Benjamin, William, George, John, George, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jane.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 21 in August 1831 in Bolton.  He was buried on August 28th, 1831 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²
