Joseph Allen

Joseph was born in September 1809 in Bolton and his baptism took place on September 24th, 1809 at St. Mary (Deane).¹

Joseph's father was Joseph Allen and his mother was Sarah Carter. His paternal grandparents were John Allen and Ellen Welsby. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Benjamin, William, George, John, George, Elizabeth, Sarah and Jane. He was the seventh oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 21 in August 1831 in Bolton. His burial was on August 28th, 1831 at St. Peter's (Bolton).²

- In 1822, Joseph did NOT marry Mary Slack and had a son Benjamin (named after his close brother). There is no DNA match in 18 trees with this family.
  
  Joseph may have married Jane and had a dughter Hannah in 1825.
