The Benjamin Allen who died in Preston in 1871, aged 68 (correct age) was from Bedfordshire. There are no UK census records for a Benjamin Allen from Lancashire.
There is a baptism record for Benjamin being baptised at Peel. This may be an error, as all other baptisms after Benjamin are at Deane.
