Richard's father was Richard Adderley and his mother was Agnes Doyle. His paternal grandparents were James Adderley and Hannah Eddowes. He had four sisters named Agnes, Mary, Elizabeth and Veronica. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 56 on January 15th, 1964.
