Martha was born in 1879 in Manchester.¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was James Adderley and her mother was Hannah Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were James Eddowes and Martha Beardow. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Richard, Ernest, Hannah, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. She was the second oldest of the seven children.
