Joannes  was born on July 20th, 1668 in St Andries.1   His godfather was Joannes de Clerck and his godmother was Maria Weghe (Nomine) Maria Schuddebaert.  Joannes 's father was Egididius BROERS  and his mother was Maria Crauwers .  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Custers  and Francisca De Wit(te) . He had two brothers and four sisters, named Aegidius , Gerardus, Cornelia, Elisabeth, Maria and Barbara.  Gerardus and Joannes  were twins.
