Egididius was born on December 14th, 1631 in Antwerp.1   His godfather was Dielis Molders and his godmother was Anna Dykens. Egididius' father was Johannes Custers  and his mother was Francisca De Wit(te) . He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joannes , Georgius, Anna, Susanna, Helena  and Maria.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
