Maria was born on March 27th, 1646 in Antwerp.  Her godfather was Anton Govaerts   and her godmother was Maria Michielsen. Maria's father was Johannes Custers  and her mother was Francisca De Wit(te) . She had three brothers and three sisters, named Egididius, Joannes , Georgius, Anna, Susanna and Helena .  She was the youngest of the seven children.
