John was born on December 25th, 1871 in StCleer, Cornwall, England.1 John's father was John HENDRA and his mother was Mary Jane ROWE. His paternal grandparents were Thomas HENDRA and Mary BANDS; his maternal grandfather was William ROWE and his maternal grandmother is Ann BLAMEY. He had seven brothers and seven sisters, named John Thomas, Nathanial Rowe, Thomas, Frederick, Alfred, Melville, William Benson, Mary, Martha, Emma, Ida, Louisa, Myrtle Victoria and Candace. Little can be said about John Hendra except that he was born on Christmas Day in 1871 at St Cleer, Cornwall to John Hendra and Mary Jane (nee Rowe). He, like others of his brothers and sisters emigrated to the USA. There, he settled and married Lottie Parsons and they had five children. His death date is not known but it is believed that he lived at least into his eighties.
