Frederick Thomas was born in 1874 in Landsborough.  Frederick Thomas' father was Henry James ASTON and his mother was Mary CROWLE. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John, William Henry, Charles, John, Hector Edwin, Elizabeth, Emma, Mary Isabella, Lilly Florence and Ethal Florence.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.
