Elizabeth's father was John Singleton and her mother was Margaret (Peggy) Seed. Her paternal grandparents were John Singleton and Elizabeth Ion. She had four brothers and three sisters, named John, William, James, George, Jane, Ann and Mary. She was the oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 46 on January 18th, 1865 in Stalmine, Lancashire, England.
