James was born in February 1689 in Warbrecks, Poulton Le Fylde, Lancashire, England.  James' father was Lawrence Singleton and his mother was Margaret Unknown.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 63 on October 14th, 1752 in Poulton Le Fylde, Lancashire, England.
