John Cookson

John was born in February 1673 in Wellington, Shropshire and his baptism took place on February 20th, 1673 in Christ Church, Wellington, Shropshire.  John's father was William Cookson and his mother was Elizabeth Whitfield.  His paternal grandparents were John Cookson and Jane Pekah; his maternal grandparents were John Whitfield and Margaret Unknown. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William, John, Henry, William, Margaret, Elizabeth, Mary, Jane, Sarah and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.
