John was born on July 11th, 1844.1   John's father was Adam Slonecker and his mother was Nancy Bechtell (Slonecker).  His paternal grandparents were John Schlonecker and Elizabeth Strickler (Schlonecker); his maternal grandparents were ? Bechtell and ? ? (Bechtell). He had five brothers and six sisters, named David, George, Eli, Lewis, Adam, Elizabeth, Polly, Mariah, Catherine, Amanda and Emma.  He was the eighth oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 62 on June 24th, 1907.1 

John's family

John and Mary were married.  They had a son and a daughter, named Henry and Ellen.  The family line is yet to be completed.
