Eli was born on July 28th, 1846.1  Eli's father was Adam Slonecker and his mother was Nancy Bechtell (Slonecker).  His paternal grandparents were John Schlonecker and Elizabeth Strickler (Schlonecker); his maternal grandparents were ? Bechtell and ? ? (Bechtell). He had five brothers and six sisters, named David, George, John, Lewis, Adam, Elizabeth, Polly, Mariah, Catherine, Amanda and Emma.  He was the nineth oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 72 on February 21st, 1919.1

Eli and Mary were married in a religious & civil ceremony on July 4th, 1867.2   They had a daughter named Lousia.
