Emma was born on June 7th, 1850 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   Emma's father was Adam Slonecker and her mother was Nancy Bechtell (Slonecker).  Her paternal grandparents were John Schlonecker and Elizabeth Strickler (Schlonecker); her maternal grandparents were ? Bechtell and ? ? (Bechtell). She had six brothers and five sisters, named David, George, John, Eli, Lewis, Adam, Elizabeth, Polly, Mariah, Catherine and Amanda.  She was the eleventh oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 89 in October 1939.1

Emma and ? were married in a religious & civil ceremony.  They had a son named Elmer.
