Robert Knowles 
Robert was born in 1864 in Chester Le St, Co Durham.1 Robert's father was Robert Knowles and his mother was Jane Pickering. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Knowles and Ann Hope; his maternal grandfather was William Pickering. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Archibald, William, Jane, Sarah, Ann, Barbara, Margaret and Mary. He was the third youngest of the nine children.-
