Barbara Knowles 
Barbara was born in 1863 in Chester Le St, Co Durham.1 Barbara's father was Robert Knowles and her mother was Jane Pickering. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Knowles and Ann Hope; her maternal grandfather was William Pickering. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Archibald, William, Robert, Jane, Sarah, Ann, Margaret and Mary. She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
