Joseph Clift

Joseph was born in 1755 in Cakemore, Worcestershire and his christening took place on January 26th, 1755 at St Johns, Halesowen, Worcestershire.¹   Joseph's father was James Clift and his mother was Ann Smith. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Josiah, Dorothy, Mary and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had three half-brothers named Thomas, James and Samuel.
