Helen was born on August 2nd, 1848.  Helen's father was Sir William Muir and her mother was Elizabeth Huntly Wemyss.  Her paternal grandparents were William Muir and Helen; her maternal grandparents were James Wemyss and Caroline Charlotte Binfield. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named William, James, John, Archibald, Charles, Thomason Muir, Wemyss, Caroline, Elizabeth, Katherine, Margaret, Agnes, Jean and Helen.  She died at the age of 1 on September 24th, 1849 in Mussoorie, India.  Her burial was in Dera, India.
