Amelia was born on April 6th, 1821.  Amelia's father was Ferdinandus Pieters and her mother was Isabelle Duyvejonck.  Her paternal grandparents were Joannes Pieters and Livina Therese Mestdagh; her maternal grandparents were Joannes Duyvejonck and Brigitta Blanckaert. She had seven brothers and a sister, named Leo, Carel, Ivo, Frederic, Eduard, levenloos, Joannes and Levenloos.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 56 on August 7th, 1877.
