Thorleif was born on March 11th, 1914 in Sogndalstrand, Sokndal, Rogaland,  Norway.1 2   Thorleif's father was Adolph Andreasson Brandsberg and his mother was Anna Cecilie  Theodstr Eia.  His paternal grandparents were Andreas Andreassen Brandsberg (Stranden) and Rakel Gunnarsdtr  Lauland; his maternal grandparents were Teodor  Olsson Helleren (Eia) and Berthe Gurie  Pedersdtr  Egeland (Heskestad). He had three brothers named Andreas , Reidar and Birger.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 94 on December 1st, 2008 in Solbø, Norway.3

‌Thorleif and Helene were married.  They had a son and three daughters, and also two children of unknown gender, named Arnfred, Ingjerd, Annlaug, Ranveig, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  are twins.
