Berthe Gurie  was born on April 20th, 1858 in Vestre Egeland, Sokndal, Rogaland, Norway.1  Berthe Gurie 's father was Peder Villassen Eikeland (GrosFjell) and her mother was Ane Gurie Nilsdtr Roydland.  Her paternal grandparents were Villas  Mattiassen Eikeland and Marta Torsteinsdtr Grosfjell (Hestad); her maternal grandparents were Nils Jonsen  Roydland and Gitlaug Taraldsdtr Hoyland. She had a brother named Nils Mikal .  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 77 in January 1936 in Sokndal, Rogaland, Norway.  She was buried in Sokndal Kirke, Hauge i Dalane, Sokndal, Norway.2

‌Berthe Gurie  and Teodor  were married.  They had five sons and two daughters, named Peder, Ola, Trygve Birger, Peder Antoni , Peder Anfin, Anna Cecilie  and Adelaide.
