Samuel Whitling 
Samuel was born on May 18th, 1888 in Hauxwell, York, England and his christening took place there on July 2nd, 1888.1 2 Samuel's father was Samuel Whitling and his mother was Elizabeth Graham. His paternal grandparents were Henry Manfield and Rebecca Whitling; his maternal grandparents were Humphrey Graham and Ann Langsthorne. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Henry, John, Robert, Richard, Rebecca, Harriet and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.-
