Richard Whitling 
Richard was born in 1898 in Hauxwell, York, England and his christening took place there on July 3rd, 1898.1 2 Richard's father was Samuel Whitling and his mother was Elizabeth Graham. His paternal grandparents were Henry Manfield and Rebecca Whitling; his maternal grandparents were Humphrey Graham and Ann Langsthorne. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Henry, John, Samuel, Robert, Rebecca, Harriet and Mary. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died as a war casualty, WW1, at the age of 19 on November 3rd, 1917.-
