Lawrence E. 'Tosh' was born in March 1866 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 Lawrence E. 'Tosh''s father was Robert J. Roberts and his mother was Julia A. Webster. His paternal grandparents were Martin Roberts and Elizabeth Gilliland. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Richard Martin, Robert L., Thomas, John W., Elizabeth, Margaret L., Cora A. and Mary E.. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 54 in 1920.1 General Notes
