John Rufus Roberts 
John Rufus was born on June 12th, 1866 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 John Rufus' father was Nebuchanezer Roberts and his mother was Mary A. Floyd. His paternal grandparents were James Roberts and Susannah Thomas. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named William Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Frances M., James A., Joseph Walker, Charles S., Martin Elkaine, Susan M., Bertha Parsada and Lillie Belle. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 68 on April 7th, 1935. He was buried in First Baptist Church Cemetery, Eden, Rockingham Co, NC.1 General Notes
