Sarah Jane Hoke 
Sarah Jane was born in 1855 in Shelby, Cleveland Co, NC and her baptism took place in Census 1870. Sarah Jane's father was Peter Philo Hoke and her mother was Faithy Ann Goforth. Her maternal grandparents were William Clayton Goforth and Jane Christina Houser. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas William, Robert C., Peter W., Benjamin Logan, Clara J., Cora Harriett and Caroline B. 'Callie'.
