Robert C. Hoke 
Robert C. was born on February 24th, 1869 in Shelby, Cleveland Co, NC and his baptism took place in Census 1880. Robert C.'s father was Peter Philo Hoke and his mother was Faithy Ann Goforth. His maternal grandparents were William Clayton Goforth and Jane Christina Houser. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas William, Peter W., Benjamin Logan, Sarah Jane, Clara J., Cora Harriett and Caroline B. 'Callie'. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 30 on October 3rd, 1899. He was buried in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, Cleveland Co, NC.General Notes
