Ila Ida was born on June 18th, 1878 in Davie, North Carolina. Ila Ida's father was Joseph Henry Foster and her mother was Louise Angelica Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Weldon " William" Goode Foster and Zilphia "Silpha" Jarvis. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Herman, John Kerr, Nola Shell, Charlotte B., Nannie A, Maggie L and Clara. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had seven half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Joseph William, Joseph W, Arland M, Cleland Miller, Cleland Miller, Alvin W, Alvin, Martha Evelyn, Evelina, Mary Walton, Mary W. and Nina May. She died at the age of 76 on October 6th, 1954 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth, North Carolina.-
