Sarah Gertrude was born on October 3rd, 1884 in Texarkana, Bowie Co, Texas, USA. Sarah Gertrude's father was Major Emmett Brown and her mother was Sarah Emiline (Emma) Akin. Her maternal grandparents were Collin McKinney Akin and Lucinda Frances Pinkerton. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Pleasant Emmet, Charles McKinney, Collin Edwin, Ernest, Robert Jackson, Winnie Virginia, Mildred Dimmie, Lucinda Allie, Divie and Carrie Idella. She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 94 in November 1978 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co, California, USA.-
