Her maternal grandparents were Collin McKinney Akin and Lucinda Frances Pinkerton. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Pleasant Emmet, Charles McKinney, Collin Edwin, Ernest, Robert Jackson, Sarah Gertrude, Winnie Virginia, Lucinda Allie, Divie and Carrie Idella. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 81 on October 1st, 1973 in Denver, Denver Co, Colorado, USA. She was buried on October 4th, 1973 in Manzanola, Crowley Co, Colorado.-
