Joseph Akin 
Joseph was born on November 5th, 1778.1 Joseph's father was James Akin and his mother was Mary Murphy. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Akin and Margaret (Peggy) Bass; his maternal grandparents were Miles Murphy and Amey Norman. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, John, James, Bill, Elder, Nancy, Mary, Deborah, Martha, Susannah and Sarah. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 49 on June 27th, 1828.-
