Winfield Lawrence was born on August 12th, 1882 in Alleppo Twp., (Greene Co.), PA. Winfield Lawrence's father was Robert Filby and his mother was Mary Evaline Strope.  His paternal grandparents were William Filbe and Catherine Speck; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Strope and Mary A. Mitchell. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, George, Alice, Zella May and Clara Foster.  He died at the age of 81 on January 2nd, 1964 in Washington, (Washington Co.), Pennsylvania.

Robert Filby

The body of Robert Filby, aged 65 years, who died at PerryopolisSaturday morning, will arrive in Washington this morning about 11o'clock and taken directly to the Washington cemetery where shortservices will be held and the internment will be.  Mr. Filby was bornin Greene County. He leaves following children: Mrs. Albert Sickles,George and Winfield Filby and Mrs. Clara Foster, all of Washington andWilliam Filby, of Washington, R.D. (3 or 8) and Mrs. A. Donahoo, ofnear Scenery Hill.
