William Rathbun

William was born about 1661 in Dorchester, Massachusetts.¹ William's father was John Rathbone and his mother was Margaret Acres. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Rathbone and Alice Childwall; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Acres. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, Joseph, Samuel, Sarah, Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers named William and Samuel. He died before October 30th, 1727 in Westerly, Rhode Island.¹
