Mary Elizabeth was born on April 28th, 1847 in Screven Co., GA.1 Mary Elizabeth's father was William Newton and her mother was Jemima Parker. Her maternal grandparents were James Parker and Elizabeth Sasser. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, James Madison, Augustus R., George M., Jane A., Martha M. and Cynthia Ann. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 65 on November 27th, 1912.1 -
