Augustus R. Newton 
Augustus R. was born on April 1st, 1850 in Screven Co., GA.1 Augustus R.'s father was William Newton and his mother was Jemima Parker. His maternal grandparents were James Parker and Elizabeth Sasser. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, James Madison, George M., Mary Elizabeth, Jane A., Martha M. and Cynthia Ann. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 67 on January 14th, 1918.1 General Notes
