Hardy Hunter was born on April 11th, 1845 in Emanuel Co., GA.1 Hardy Hunter's father was John Lanier Moore and his mother was Elender Barber. His paternal grandparents were John William Moore and Dicey Sikes; his maternal grandparents were William Barber and Mary A. Hendrix. He had five brothers and a sister, named William B., Augustus M., Sebron Thomas, Thomas Street, Virgil Powers and Jane E.. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William Marshall and Sarah E.. He died at the age of 75 on February 24th, 1921 in Bulloch Co., GA.
