Elender was born about 1814 in GA.1 Elender's father was William Barber and her mother was Mary A. Hendrix. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Wade, John, Joseph, Thomas, Ann, Margaret and Nancy. She died about 1850 in Emanuel Co., GA. She was buried in Emanuel Co., GA.1 1 General Notes
