William Madison was born in 1865 in Butte, CA.1   William Madison's father was Solomon Goar. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas A., James Christian, Richmond Bledso, George W., Francis Marion, Solomon P., Elizabeth and Mary Emeline.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 1 on August 30th, 1866 in Rock Creek, Butte, CA.1
