Kate Gilchrist 
Kate was born in 1846.1 Kate's father was James Graham Gilchrist and her mother was Elizabeth Briggs. Her paternal grandparents were Angus Gilchrist and Elizabeth McNeill; her maternal grandfather was William Briggs. She had a brother and four sisters, named Angus, Sara (Sallie), Elizabeth (Betty), Annie and Mary (Molly). She was the third youngest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Abner, James, Thomas and Susan. She died at the age of 24 in 1870.1 -
