John Jacob Rhodes Gilchrist

John Jacob Rhodes was born on December 19th, 1816.¹   John Jacob Rhodes' father was Angus Gilchrist and his mother was Elizabeth McNeill.  His paternal grandparents were John Gilchrist and Effie McMillan. He had a brother and a sister, named James Graham and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Archibald McKay, John, Catherine, Effie and Mary.  He died at the age of 39 on May 3rd, 1856.¹
