Archibald McKay Gilchrist

Archibald McKay was born on September 16th, 1805 in Richmond, (now Scotland) Co., N. C..¹   Archibald McKay's father was Angus Gilchrist and his mother was Margaret McKay.  His paternal grandparents were John Gilchrist and Effie McMillan. He had a brother and three sisters, named John, Catherine, Effie and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named James Graham, John Jacob Rhodes and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 48 on July 2nd, 1854 in Haynesville, Ala..¹
