Gideon Barnwell Dean

Gideon Barnwell was born about 1841 in Jonesville, Liberty Co., GA.¹   Gideon Barnwell's father was Gideon Barnwell Dean and his mother was Elizabeth Williams.  His paternal grandparents were Jesse Dean and Mary Ann Unknown. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Samuel John, Allen William, Beauford Le Conte, William Jones, King David, Mary C., Sarah Isabella, Louisa Victoria, Elizabeth Clifford, Henrietta Alice and Lillian Gertrude.  He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He had three half-sisters named Unknown, Margaret M. and Eliza Catherine.¹
