James Andrew was born on December 4th, 1850. James Andrew's father was Jesse Shipton and his mother is Josephine Galgour. His paternal grandfather was Jesse Shipton and his paternal grandmother is Julia Davis. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William Henry, Dudley Simmons, Francis Marion, Daniel, Jesse, Martha Ann, Sarah Jane, Alvina `Vinney` and Calantha M..
